Anonymous Refuge 12-Step Program
Domestic violence is a serious public health issue. It can lead to injury, trauma, and even death. Many cases are preventable through education, healthy relationship modeling, community support, and responsible policy.
Prevention matters. Support matters. Accountability matters.
Over the next 12 weeks, I will be documenting a personal growth journey inspired by the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions. My goal is to create a space where words connect instead of attack.
Each week, I will reflect on one step and share what I am learning. This is not therapy, not instruction, and not professional advice. It is a personal reflection process shared publicly for accountability and encouragement.
Why This Journey?
I have been free from my drug of choice for over ten years and sober for three years. Recovery has changed my life.
Now I am asking a new question:
Can the Twelve Steps be applied not only to substance addiction, but also to unhealthy relationship patterns?
For much of my life, I struggled with toxic relationships. In my book, I share my story and my decision to pursue voluntary recovery and healthier choices. During these twelve weeks, I will continue exploring growth, boundaries, and healing.
What to Expect Over the Next 12 Weeks
Weekly reflections on each of the Twelve Steps
Honest conversations about relationship recovery
Discussions about rebuilding family stability
Lessons learned from past legal and custody challenges
Behind-the-scenes updates on launching a grassroots advocacy project
This journey will include both progress and setbacks. Healing is not linear. My hope is to show that growth is possible with honesty and consistent effort.

Some topics may be sensitive. When discussions feel heavy, we will also provide calming and grounding content to support emotional balance.
This space is intended to be respectful, reflective, and recovery-focused.
Closing Reflection
“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.”
Keep coming back. Growth works when you work it.
